BB | Brilliant ruby to pink. Exuberant red-cherry and wild-strawberry nose, mature yet refined and elegant, with a complex, mineral, herbal, citrus character. Medium body, layered red fruit, firm yet fine tannins, and a long, weightless finish. 94
AJ | Deep cherry-garnet; translucent. What seems to be some tenacious reduction here rather spoils the bright fruits beneath, alas, giving it an almost rubber-like note. Not unpleasant, but it lacks charm. It does seem to dissipate with ten minutes in the glass, so it may be that a vigorous decant an hour ahead would do the trick. Deep and structured, with firm, fresh fruits, almost lemony/redcurranty—such an interesting character print. No reduction issues on the palate, happily. This is a juicy and characterful wine, with a herbal finish. Fine aromas would have harvested a higher score. 89
MP | Pronounced nose, with very ripe notes of red-currant jelly, wild strawberry, wet earth, clove, gravy, and wood smoke. This full-bodied red combines powerfully scented red fruit with high alcohol, ripe tannins, and balancing acidity. It perhaps swaps out some aromatic subtlety for power, but the finish is driven by bright notes of cranberry, red currant, and pomegranate. Both complex and structured, this wine will continue to develop in bottle. 93
