BB | Garnet to tawny. Refined, complex, rather developed nose, with tobacco, leather, plums, and prunes, with hints of dry hey, forest floor, and dried Mediterranean herbs. An unbalanced palate, with challenging acidity and slightly green tannins. Not an enjoyable wine: overdeveloped for the vintage. 84
AJ | [bottle 2] Clear and light garnet, with an almost leafy tone at the meniscus. Complex and more secondary in aroma, too, than its 2020 peers: chestnuts, forest leaves and underbrush. Warm pomegranate fruits. Attractive, fine, pure, and refined aromas. Ample architecture here, with vigorous, forthright fruits, a fine veil of billowing tannin, and fresh, complex, compelling acidity. Admirable finishing complexity, too, as the wine fades in a pool of stone, thorn, leaf, and salty pomegranate. 93
MP | Delicate nose, showing primary fruit including cranberry, hyacinth, dried rose, tinned strawberry, and no obvious oak. This is genuinely charming, with very fine grape tannins and naturally refreshing acidity supporting the delicate red-fruit aromatics. The length is excellent and driven by fruit rather than tannins or oak. With time in bottle, this will develop considerably more complexity and intensity. 95
