AJ | Very bright, very light red. Almost luminous, with bright scarlet glints. A rather reductive nose, in which it is hard to see fruit behind the farmy odors initially, though these aren't oppressive, just quietly graceless. I will come back after some time. Ten minutes later the wine is clean, with no further reductive notes (so decanting advised), though the fruits are still shyer than for many. A delicious mouthful of fresh, airy fruits, with gentle herbal notes and a sheaf of fine, falling tannins; more purposeful and modestly extractive toward the end. Mouthfilling and full. An excellent wine, in sum, though the score is held in check by those minor aromatic issues. 89
