SB | The nose is lean and apricotty and not very expressive now. The attack is surprisingly slack for Jurançon, though the acidity creeps up on the mid-palate. Yet it doesn't seem harmonious and the acidity is in a sidecar. The fruit lacks precision, though there is some bite here. But it's a modest Jurançon that lacks lift and elegance. Moderate length. 87
AJ | Bright gold. Sweet, warm, and harmonious: very attractive aromas, packed with buttered pineapple and caramelized apple. Only two years old, yet already very settled and balanced. Ditto here. This is obviously quite a commercial effort, and it is by no means super-sweet (acidity does all the structuring here), but the varieties and the place are quite enough to carry it into the upper echelons. Very solid Jurançon, which will provide huge drinking pleasure—and this one could easily serve as a great aperitif. 89
SR | This golden Jurancon offers a deep, rich, very clear, refined, and aromatic bouquet, with delicate pineapple and candied-pear aromas. On the palate, this is a rich, dense, and concentrated, viscous yet elegant and vivacious Jurançon, with an intense fruit, fine tannin grip, oak tannins, and a persistent salinity. Still pretty sweet, this 2021 will benefit from further bottle aging. 93
