SR | This 2019 Rosacker combines a perfectly ripe and elegant fruit with the chalky notes of the cru, on an intense and refined nose. Silky, refined, and very elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich, and intense, very complex and age-worthy Riesling with finest tannins and a kind of chalky salinity. The wine is very well balanced, refined, and tensioned—all very promising. 95
AJ | Pale gold with white-gold glints. Restrained, taut, fine-drawn yet complex, too: very fine aromas here of white summer fruits, nougatine, and honey. Rich things, you'll note, yet in a restrained, classy style. Intense, deep, searching: Rosacker is never broad, but always deep, drilling down into the earth. Pungent, taut, and tight; excellent, and still with plenty of mileage ahead. This is a very fine wine, though "inner" and unshowy. Another totally riveting Rosacker: the North Pole of Alsace. 96
AR | Pale gold. Classic Alsace aromatics, with notes of spice, apple, and citrus; then when you taste, after an initial tingle on the tongue, the first thing you notice is the sweetness, followed by a balancing sour acidity, and while searching for fruit flavor, it's just a little bit lacking; pleasant, yes, but just a bit thinner than I want it to be; a good drink, without doubt, but I would like a bit more intensity. 89
