SR | The only Gewurztraminer of the Grand Cru Rosacker in this tasting is quite closed and oaky on the nose and blunt rather than brillant. On the palate, this is quite a sweet Gewurztraminer, with not really fine tannins, but an intense and fruity finish. Not really stimulating, though. 89
AJ | Bright, pale gold with gold glints. A masterpiece of creamy, delicate finesse: all the spices, but buried in cream, and yet fresh, too (the Rosacker legacy). Lovely scents. Vivid, lively, dancing, rich, enchantingly perfumed; this is The Nutcracker danced out on your tongue! Super-lovely wine: I challenge anyone not to sip this and give way totally, only getting up afterward once the bottle is drained. And a real revelation—who would have thought that nimble-footed, aerial Rosacker could prove such a propitious site for Gewurztraminer? A triumphant success, anyway, and the chance to see Rosacker in a completely different light. 93
AR | Bright mid-gold in color, this has the requisite, exotic, rose-petal, pot-pourri perfume, and the voluptuous, spicy, floral sweetness of fruit is really well-balanced by a refreshingly juicy acidity, so that even if you are not the most ardent of Gewurztraminer lovers, there's plenty to enjoy in this unquestionably opulent and exotic dry white. 92
