Château La Tour Sauternes Bordeaux France 2019 (13.5% ABV) — 92.5
SF | Typically modest of hue, the aromas marrying green and yellow fruit, with hints of almond , nougat and spice. Not intense, but it seldom is at this address. There is a gentle build on the palate, however, with hints of creamy pineapple and soft spice, carefully manipulated oak and a soft, almost gentle finish. Not overwhelmed by either sugar of botrytis, composed in a minor key , well balanced and nicely made. 92
AJ | A bright, clear mid-gold. Soft and beguiling, with ample honey, marzipan and lanolin. Very classic and true, and there are linden scents behind as well to add to the pleasure. Taut, firm, clean, sinewy and sappy on the palate, dripping with honeyed fruits (grape, peach, nectarine, pineapple). A few more years will bring in on further, but all the elements are there for a balanced, expressive Sauternes.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2038. 93
