AJ | Dark, dense black-red. Clean, fresh, articulate and scrutable, with both warmth and charm. Another of those 'classic claret' 2019 noses, perfect for blind tasting purposes. And drinking, too: this is concentrated, vivid and more amply fleshed than many of its peers. Even big-bellied -- but that belly is fruit-packed. Great fun.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2031. 91
MS | Closed and tight to smell, distinctly gravelly, fruit muted but finely ‘persistent’ lightly black-fruit ripe with time in the glass; rich, fairly concentrated, fresh and firmly but finely tannic, a fine balance, a long term constitution; sweetly, freshly ripe to taste, long and close grained and subtle, very well sustained across the palate, elegant, graceful, complex, refined, and very long in both fruit and fragrance to finish. Fine, long term, classy La Lagune. Tannins very present, but also very refined. Top notch Haut Medoc – clearly. Drink Dates: 2035 - 2055+. 93
