AJ | Dense, deep though not saturated black-red. Peppery and savoury-sweet aromas, over lively, bubbling fruits: unusual charm and originality here. Perfumed grasses. Lush, svelte, fine-stitched Pauillac of remarkable intensity and perfumed charm. Admirably fine-grained tannins help ballast the lunging tannins, but it is the cloth of flesh which clothes both, and its perfumed qualities, which so impresses. A super wine in its own right, and a head-turning second wine.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2038. 93
MS | Softly sweet blackcurrant ripe on the nose, and gently oak-cedary; moderately rich medium full wine, fresh in acidity, finely tannic; an easy, polished second wine, sweetly ripe in flavour, subtly gravelly, succulent and fleshy, but also with a gently defining sinew, structured by its fine dry tannins; long and graceful to taste, long and subtly spicy to finish. Complete and lovely, and accessible relatively early. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2040+. 91
