SF | Dense colour, saturated, profound. The nose is initially a little dusty..a core of dark fruit lurks beneath , of that I am sure. Today it seems a little disjointed, unusual in a CLG, but there we are. It does not take much in such precise beasts to be knocked out of shape and the repercussions mean that both the acidity and the matrix of the tannins seem a little disjointed and hard fully to appreciate! On can sense the quality beneath, that's for sure.....on a second tasting it has already 'calmed down' a mere half an hour later. Patience is a virtue it seems.....the score goes up a notch, 91
AJ | Dense, dark black-red; opaque at the core. Earthy, fresh and vital aromatically; ripe, pungent fruits and bright spice. The wine has aromatic breath and resonance, with ample sweet sheen, too. Vivid, fresh, lively and incisive, built on a penetrating core of blackcurrant fruits. Concentrated and crisply defined, if just a little raw on the finish. Impressive tannic wealth, too.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 92
MS | Freshly red cherry ripe, gently gravel imbued; full and fresh and finely tannic, a notably fine ‘hot’ vintage, right bank balance; elegantly rich, fresh, finely and firmly tannic; sweet without excess, a relatively restrained ripeness for the year, graceful, subtle, transparent, long and detailed to taste, full of a gentle energy, and with a softly fruity, aromatic aftertaste to match. A stylish long term prospect. Drink Dates: 2034 - 2045+. 93
