Château Canon-la-Gaffeliere Saint-Emilion Bordeaux France 2019 (14% ABV) — 91
AJ | Dark, dense black-red. Warm, exuberant and enticing, with ample rounded fruits. On the palate, the wine is deep, searching, frim and fresh, again built on a core of ripe, exuberant, spicy fruit. Ample curranty purity here.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 90
MS | Still quite tight, but freshly ripe fruited to smell, with a fine faintly herbal character, subtle and intriguing in the glass; fullish, fresh to lively, firmly tannic and with a nice concentration; elegant and relatively discreet as usual, long across the palate, a subtly juicy core of sweetly ripe fruit, pure, transparent, aromatic, but notably firm in its tannin presence, and a bit less ‘mineral’ in aromas than it often is. Needing plenty of bottle age. Drink Dates: 2034 - 2045+. 92
