SF | Deep saturated colour, near opaque at the core; oak is strident on the nose and palate alike, plush and reassuring for all that , but it does incline to challenge, jeapordise even the inherent structural integrity; to such an extent that the acidity appears a little barbed in places, the fruits too sweet and the overall assemblage, whilst attractive in the short term, poses more questions than it answers. This may, of course, all change in the near future! 89
MS | Ripe and fresh to smell, a touch of the noble herbal character too; full, fresh, firmly tannic; firm yet fine, though you do notice the slight alcohol fire and firmness as soon as the wine is on the palate - doubtless, in the main, a function of the vintage. That said this is also pure and transparent in fruit, subtly mineral informed as well, long to taste, long and delightfully fruit fragrant to finish. But this would be, as is the case with many, an easier, more attractive beverage at a degree less. The beautiful underlying finesse is a bit swamped. Time required.Drink Dates: 2033 - 2045+. 93
