SF | Russet, a hint of sorrel. Nose of candied tangerine, crystalized lemon, and walnut, still youthful despite being well into its second decade. The palate is broad, almost cloying, with a firm kick of alcohol at the back; hints of white chocolate and gingerbread, limes and dried apricot, then a firm grip on the finish. 86
AJ | Pale amber-gold. Pervasive, floating scents of lavender and rue, over a sweet substrate; a touch of liquid caramel. Succulent, gathered sweetness here, with ample fresh acid balance, too. White Port is rarely notably fruity, but this has some quince and honeydew melon flavors that appeal. The finish remains a little warm. 2024–27. 88
RM | Browning orange in hue; some savory, nutty wood-aged character here on the nose, a hint of spirit, with underlying dried-apricot and quince-like fruit, which emerges on the palate; soft, sweet, and licorous in its richness and concentration, with lovely, soft-apricot richness on the finish. Nicely melded overall. 89
