Y. AMIRAULT Pavillon du Grand Clos France Loire Bourgueil 2020 (13.5% ABV) — 92
SF | A plush modern style, with creamy raspberry comport, vanillin and soft spice to the fore. The interlay with the ripe vintage has been diligently crafted to eschew excess, but the very generosity imposed upon the structure is, in youth somewhat dominant. Seductive , Rubenesq and ravishing, but not without a shard of acidity to enforce discipline, or at the very least, the sense of both varietal and place. One to revisit in five years. 91
DW | Very alluring depth of rich, floral-edged ripe black fruit compote, and there is a real sumptuousness here, with plenty of pleasure in the gloss and plumpness thanks to the very pleasing contrast of the chalk-seam of tannin and bright red-berry acidity, a finish of perfectly ripe rasberry juiciness.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 93
AR | Relatively deep in colour, this shows instant appear in its aromatic profile, with a veneer of quite classy, spicy oak overlaying fresh red berry fruitiness and inviting you into the glass; and it isn't disappointing when you taste, but, rather, delivers an enjoyable mouthful of ripe, succulent red fruit nicely shaded by a touch of vanilla oak in a red of attractive balance, texture and freshness with good potential for ageing.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 92
