SF | Intense colour, with a narrow rim, looking younger than it is. The nose is troubled, however, burnt runner and something vegetal. This has not resolved on the palate, which is therefore disjointed and columns, alcoholic and lacking redeemable shape. 87
AJ | Another hugely dark, dense colour here; still opaque. Some lack of freshness and lift to the fruit spectrum, here; just a little bit toffeed. Rich and plush overall for all that. On the palate, this is very opulent and sweet (in the Dao context, which means with a ton of acidity, too). Just a bit too sweet and sour finally for refined enjoyment, though it is certainly showy.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 87
RM | Mid -deep and still youthful in colour with an attractive wine gum nose and a hint of rock rose; some savoury oak initially on the palate with firm, tight-knit tannins and a touch of stewed cherry and plum fruit on the finish. Some fleeting charm here.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 90
