BB | Deep garnet to pink. Open, spicy, mature, earthy, black and red fruits, crushed stones, rosemary nose. Full body, youthful, touch rustic tannins palate with fairly long, black fruits finish.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2032. 92
AJ | Dense, deep black-red; one of today's darker wines. Sweet and serene, with underbrush, plum and pomegranate fruits, stone flour. Typical of the expansive and untroubled aromatic refinement of the year. Just a touch of raisin and tar. The balance here is more weighted to acid than tannin, and the cast is cooler - a N-facing site, or a site in a northern quarter of the DOCG? Though this was not particularly apparent on the aromatics -- but more in the firm, almost military style of the tannins and their relationship to the wine's acidity. Might there be some new wood here? Anyway, ample concentration and the brisk though nonetheless classical style may well appeal to the new cohort of Brunello drinkers.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2038. 90
MP | The pronounced nose shows a very ripe, baked character with stewed fruit, prune, and raisin. There is a faint whiff of madeirisation. On the palate the high alcohol and chippy note of baked plum, cooked cherry, griottes and makes this an edgy example that lacks both freshness and complexity.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2026. 88
