Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, almost opaque, oaky nose. Rich, tight-knit fruit on palate, with some pretty sturdy tannins. A wine for future reference—three years plus. 16

Bruno Besa: Black core to thin garnet rim. Mature, slightly jammy nose, with prunes, blackberries, and almost Christmas-pudding undertones. Full-bodied palate with a great deal of tannins, well balanced by the rich fruit. Well made but a bit over the top in terms of maturity. 16

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Plump mocha-and-black-fruit nose, with a good dose of oak. Doesn’t seem that dominated by Sangiovese, though. Rich, plump, round, and generous, but close to soupy. It’s super-ripe, and while it does have some acidity, it’s the opulence that dominates. Moderate length. 16
