SF | Near obsidian, with a very narrow youthful rim. A classic Medocian nose, restrained, dignified; a hint of bitumen and peat behind the fruit. Broad across the palate, the acidity clinging at the back, structurally quite flat. Correct, but does not inspire. 88
AJ | Dark, saturated black red. Meaty blackcurrants: ambitious Haut-Medoc in a mini-Pauillac style. One of the wines in which you can smell the August warmth rather than the season's cooler moments. That's what you find on the palate, too. Not a wine of great refinement, but generous, even exuberant, and texturally accessible, moreover, so you don't have to stow it for years. The fruit qualities will carry in time for all that.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2036.
