AJ | Dark black-red though not quite fully opaque; scarlet meniscus. Warm, tender and open, with some development already in terms of aromatic harmony; settling and opening. Beautiful stealthy floral fruits from this second wine. Fruit, fruit, fruit: singing and teased to ripeness, and clearly Margaux in its delicacy and pert style. A very lovely drink for the short to medium term. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2034. 90
SF | Deep ruby colour and a fragrant lifted aromatic, unusually floral in this vintage. The property is owned by Chanel, but even so! Spring flowers, damask rose, redcurrant and spearmint are all considered. The palate is cleverly constructed, the oak just enough to lend structure to a dilute vintage, the fruti just enough to be able to ignore intimations of austerity. Only a little drying on the finish, this will otherwise be attractive in the medium term. Drink Dates: 2026 - 2033. 89
