AJ | Deeply coloured for the vintage and against its flighted peers: opaque red-black with a deep scarlet meniscus. Beefy and purposeful, giving the impression that we are going to meet a little more matiere on the palate than elsewhere. The fruit frame has the classical `21 freshness. A very sound effort in this vintage -- the promised matiere materialises! A wine with some substance and heft in this tricky vintage, and nothing forced about it. You can see the innate green wash in the fruit as everywhere this year -- the fruit cast is cool. But there's a decade or more of refreshing mealtime pleasure here. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2036. 89
