BUY THE WINE

AJ | Deep red-black; translucent to the core. Lots of (ripe) vegetal notes here: the holly and the ivy. But sweetly done and with ample inviting charm. Brisk, boisterous, pungent. Lively and darting, brisk and fresh: very much as the nose suggested. Lots of acidity gives the wine its energy and thrust, but the quality of the site is evident in its fruits. How much you like it will depend on how much you crave energy and freshness in claret -- there is ample on offer here. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2032. 87
SF | Deep ruby-red, with an attractive nose, unusually forward in this vintage, with dark fruit tempered by hints of butterscotch, mint and pine. Atypical perhaps, but not unattractive. The playful theme continues on the palate which does not want for intensity of fruit, mainly red fruit, nor , for that matter, quality of tannin, ripe tannin, modest of intent. Just a little short on the finish. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2031. 89
