BUY THE WINE

Alison Buchanan: Quasi-opaque prune in color, with olive hints, this presents an enticing nose redolent of autumnal dried-fruit compote, spiced and sexed up with citrus zest, apricots, and caramelized nuts. The palate echoes the nose, with no excesses. Total seduction and decadence, silk-textured and succulent, with some refreshment and focus and a creamed, full, protracted finish. 17.5

Jesús Barquín: Deep chestnut, almost opaque. The nose is complex, hard to pin down, with notes of old wine that gradually open up in the glass and translate on the palate with better quality and length. Persistent finish, with notes of raisiny fruit. 14.5

Julian Jeffs: Deep color. Not a lot of nose. Essentially rather simple, and the finish is short. 12
