Tim Atkin: Very deep color. Saturated. This could be from anywhere. Chilean Cab? Argentinean Malbec? It’s okay, but massively alcoholic and ripe. Once again, I’d have trouble spotting this as a Rioja. Big, super-concentrated stuff. Modern. 14
Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. The color announces another fruit bomb, with ripeness and tannin in spades, but here good red fruit also claims a role. Riojan typicity and good delineation, long, not devoid of freshness, and pleasant to drink despite its concentration. Modern. 17
Marcel Orford-Williams: Closed. Dark, full flavor. Lovely middle. Still a bit under the influence of oak. Good length. Drinking now but will keep. 15
