BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid ruby/garnet. One-dimensional nose, with some volatility. Palate firm and quite chewy for a Rioja. Modern in style, with Tempranillo dominating? Good acidity and tannin structure, but not quite enough fruit to carry the wine. Firmish tannins on the finish, just subduing the fruit. Modern. 13

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry, with a bright rim. A wine dominated by jammy red fruit and a creamy note. The palate is remarkable for its acidity and the balance between fine tannins and good fruit expression. Long. Traditional. 17

Marcel Orford-Williams: Muddy, pruny. Not fine. Drying out. Passed it. 8
