BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Bright, youthful, ruby/purple. Very oaky, smoky-bacon oak, drying out the fruit. High acid, slightly lean. Dense, but not well balanced. Extracted and rather dry on the finish. Modern. 7

Jesús Barquín: Medium to deep cherry. Concentrated, extracted, closed. Oak is evident, and so is alcohol. Correct but not very enjoyable. Modern. 13

Marcel Orford-Williams: Lovely nose. Ripe and sweet with hints of blackberry. Sweet middle palate. The finish is as yet undecided and a little dominated by some raw oak—more French than American maybe. Finish is hard. Good but not much charm. Intermediary style. 13
