Alison Buchanan: Rather blousy on the nose, blown and waxy fruit to the fore. There are also some atypical brioche/warm sponge cake notes. The palate presents a lovely combination of the fresh, the mineral and the exotic, underpinned by flint and crushed stones and refreshed by a bright acidity – beautifully handled. 17.5
Alex Hunt: Ripe, apricot and raspberry jam nose, idiosyncratic and slightly volatile. This could be mistaken for an ambitious white Graves. Lots of fruit and grip. Very impressive wine that ignores the AC’s stereotype and confidently ploughs its own furrow. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Mid gold. Fresh, limpid, moist grassiness with a lovely sweet edge: hugely appealing. Freshly sliced Bramley apple, too. Vivid, zesty, incisive palate with lots of lemony freshness. It’s not hugely complex, but the ripeness and definition are spot on and it powers through to a vivid, dancing finish. 15.5
