Alison Buchanan: Yellow–gold, this has a lovely nose , ripe and supple with a lively, intense spicy intrigue. Full and succulent yet lithe, this is a sensational victory of balance with ample seductive, honeyed fruit given real vitality through lively acidity and a bright mineral contrast. 16

Alex Hunt: Lovely flintiness coming through here. This is still fresh in structure, while showing the developed savoriness of bottle age. Dense and concentrated, yet still quite elegant. 16

Andrew Jefford: Still a pale lemon–gold. Dry grasses and reeds, plus a note of autumn beech-leaf too. As the nose suggested, this is hanging on by its fingernails. Well made originally and with some concentration, this is a distinguished wine but I would have enjoyed it more in 2002 or 2003. 13.5
