Tim Atkin: Deep color, youthful and vibrant. Muddy, flattish nose, dead fruit, in contrast to the color. Palate much better. Some spicy, chocolaty oak. Fresh acid. Some greenness, a hint of savory fruit. Decent if unexciting. 12
Gerard Basset: Deep ruby purple. Fairly pronounced. Summer pudding with also some licorice. Juicy and soft, ripe tannin, sweet berry with a sprinkle of milk of chocolate. Medium-long finish. 16.5
Anthony Rose: Dense, youthful ruby hue; pungent blackcurrant aromas, suggesting Cabernet; good, juicy, blackcurranty fruit quality with attractively forward, supple tannins, well made with nicely integrated oak; good overall balance, with fruit on the ripe, plummy sweet side, but attractive richness in modern vein, with nice purity and balance. 17
