Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark, clear black-red. Earthy, warm, glowing: warm embers and smouldering logs over ripe fruit. Very attractive. I give it five minutes and the aromas have grown still more subtle and compelling during that time. Dense, sweet, warm, even “ultra-ripe” in the context of the vintage, but there is a huge amount there, the tannins do their usual job of resolution of fruit, it is totally commanding in terms of its dimensions and its force. A very fine wine by any measure. Absolute wealth, depth, and satisfaction. Grand wine, and no one will ever be disappointed by this purchase. 95

Michael Palij: An egregious example of a Nebbiolo from Serralunga in a hot vintage, where site specificity and terroir has been sacrificed at the altar of phenolic maturity.
