Essi Avellan: A touch of tint on the pale color. Lifted, faintly cheesy nose, showing soft, yeasty tones and evolution. Pungent palate, with silky texture and tartness. A little disjointed, with peculiar aromatics. 87
Simon Field: Pale gold; slightly watery at the rim; the nose is discreet, with white pepper or cardboard, depending on how kind one wishes to be… and the palate tilts inclination to being less kind; the wine is rather lean on the finish, unburdened by autolytic complexity or stylistic dexterity. 87
Anthony Rose: Pale gold in color, this is sweetly floral and berryish in its bouquet, and when you taste, there’s surprisingly dry tang to the bubbles as they hit the tongue, reminiscent of English Pinot, so almost as soon as you’ve registered sweet berry fruit, you’re turning your attention to the drier and more savory elements in a fizz that grips the tongue in a firm, bone-dry finish. 89
