Andrew Jefford | Very dense in appearance, purple-black; still opaque at this stage. Ample, almost warm fruits (which is impressive for the vintage), with a sense of aromatic wealth and amplitude. This still-forming, faintly roasty aroma suggests a substance and poise above its station. Admirable purity and depth, here, with a stylish wealth of fruit, width on the tongue, and inner sweetness to match the vivacity of the vintage. Not notably tannic, however, so a wine for the mid-term—but that impressive depth of super- classic Médocain fruit will win admirers at what will surely be a reasonable price. | 89
Michael Schuster | A light, ripe blackcurrant fruit to smell here, with a clear touch of Médoc gravel; light to medium-full, a fresh to crisp acidity, a light dry tannin. A lighter claret with plenty of ripe red fruit at the core, a modest scope, and good length. Typically satisfying, if in a tauter, less robust style than usual. Still needs a year or two. 2024–32+. | 88
