Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red, still opaque at the core. Deep, earthy, planty, rooty, with sweet fruits and some shaping oak: plenty of excitement here is appealingly ripe style. Ample black cherry and plum. Intense, deep, vividly fruity, and with generous tannins, too: structured, firm and exuberant. Impressive and forceful St-Emilion, almost too much so. Let’s see if time brings a softer and more harmonious style (and a higher score); there’s plenty of matière here. | 89
Michael Schuster | Closed to smell, for the moment minerally above all; medium-full, gently fresh, moderately tannic; a nice, ripe fruit core within a certain firmness of texture, moderate complexity and very nice fruit length. This is very good, if rather chewy for my personal taste, but it will ease with bottle age and will be very fruit-attractive earlier for those who don’t mind a bit of tannin. Now to 2032+. | 88
