BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Unusually light color, almost watery in places; the aromatic is of pineapple, lemons, and soap stone; elderflower, white peach, and apricot, the structure delicate but deliberately so. The finish tapers rapidly, however, and is a little underwhelming. | 85

Andrew Jefford | Pale gold. Scents of honey and sweet barley sugar, though a little fresh and more lifted than the best of its second-wine peers. (The front label tells us it is Le nouveau Sauternes qui étonne par sa légèreté.) Sweet and full, sound and long, though with less detail and aromatic nuance than some of its peers. Attractive in a loose-limbed, tangy style. | 86
