Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in appearance; just off opaque. Soft, sweet black fruits in a faintly meaty frame. No lack of ripeness though a little less pure than some. Impressive intensity and density, with some supporting tannins and, once again, no lack of palpable ripeness; better purity than the nose suggested. An excellent second wine at this level, so I’m regretting not having its sibling to taste! The vintage character is there in the cool and faintly bitter finish, but this is very well constituted, and the depth of fruit is impressive. | 87
Michael Schuster | Lightly oaky on the nose; light, bright, little tannin on the palate; crisply red-fruit to taste, a touch on the austere side for today’s taste, perhaps, no greenness, but a sense of just-ripe fruit. This will need a couple of years to mellow, also best on the cooler side. Pleasant enough. 2022–25. | 85
