Andrew Jefford | Dark purple-red in color, just off-opaque. Fresh and pungent: green peppercorn and black peppercorn. One of the most vegetal, green- toned wines this year. Those who love what they describe as “freshness” may relish it, but I find it disappointing, and I wouldn’t age it. (Surprised to see 13.5% ABV on the label, but perhaps there was major disparity between parcels.) | 85

Michael Schuster | There appears to be something not quite right with my bottle. This is not faulty, but it is dry and faintly herbaceous to smell; medium-full, crisp, and lightly tannic in constitution; dry and thin in flavor, if with a light persistence. What’s gone wrong here? A long way from a second growth in quality. It will doubtless keep, but it’s difficult to know quite what it will become. Not what I remember from en primeur. | 86
