BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin | Thick, dense purple/ruby. Dense nose, too. Lots of concentration, well-integrated oak, and notes of damson and plum. Mid-weight palate, sweet fruit, chalky minerality, and a fresh finish. Swerves toward austerity, but the wine carries it, due to the plush, textured fruit and sweet end. | 16

Alex Hunt | This nose blends various elements—rich, plummy fruit, animal fur, tomato—without achieving much definition. The palate has firm acidity, and this helps give the impression of focus but also upsets the balance, as there is not enough substance to match it. Overall, a bit weedy. | 13

Stephan Reinhardt | Dark ruby. Sweet and ripe dark-fruit aromas, then slightly jammy, nougat flavors. Sweet and soft, well balanced, and concentrated—but this is a taster’s reality. If I had a sip or two, I would find it quite attractive, but I probably wouldn’t pour a second glass. Lacks tension. Still quite well done. | 15
