Tim Atkin | Mid-ruby/red. Aromatic, but slightly marked by reduction and alcohol. Faintly soupy, alcoholic palate, too, with bramble and damson fruit, fresh acidity and the slight hollowness that seems to be a feature of (some) Blaufränkisch. The acidity on the finish makes the wine a little scrawny. | 13
Alex Hunt | Heady, jammy, pleasant, but ill-defined nose. Some depth up front, but after that, lean and tough. Doesn’t find a consistent voice. | 13
Stephan Reinhardt | Dark purple. Rather pure and earthy on the nose—some VA?—but also quite intense. Silky, vibrant, grippy palate, pure, not yet developed. Firmly structured and slightly drying for now. | 15.5
