Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in appearance; still opaque. Plenty of depth still in this youthful-looking wine. Sweet, fresh, warm, and enchanting to smell, with notes of violet and Havana leaf; better complexity at this stage than many. The aromas float from the glass. Dense, full, and textured for this vintage in Haut-Médoc, with ample ripeness, soft tannins, and a juicy and sweet-toned acidity compared to some of its cooler, more arrow-like peers. Affable and generous yet pure and fresh, too. If the palate can acquire the finesse suggested by the aromas, this will merit a higher score later. | 88
Michael Schuster | Lightly minerally nose, fairly closed, the merest hint of herbaceousness, but also class, and with the promise of perfume to come; medium-full, fresh to crisp in acidity, finely tannic. Overall slightly austere proportions, but with both depth and length of flavor. A savory red-fruit ripeness to taste, with a sense of inner fat, lightly minerally behind that, and a nice length of aftertaste, too, though the final impression just now is of its lingering, defining acidity. This is good, but it certainly needs time, though I suspect bottle age will be well rewarded in due course. For now, wait. 2025–35+. | 90
