Michel Bettane: Classical St-Julien and classical 2009; excellent body, excellent texture, nice oak, deftly made (less the case for Les Fiefs). 17.5

Thierry Desseauve: Serious, solid, and precisely made; the definition of the tannins is excellent, the wine long and quite brilliant. 17.5

Michael Schuster: fine, ripe-fruited nose, markedly oaky, but also very tight and closed as yet; lovely sweet fruit core, long and refined and complex to taste; elegant Lagrange, its power and tannin notwithstanding, with excellent persistence. 2020–35+. 16.5+
