Stephen Brook: Straw. Lively spiced-apple nose, gently exotic. Medium-bodied but has concentration and intensity, aided by fine acidity. Not especially opulent but does have this welcome exotic character that doesn’t overwhelm the rather mouthwatering finish. An attractive, moreish style, with a fine balance between fruitiness and zest. Good length. 17
Alex Hunt: Good Viognier aromas: apricots and hay. And then a pretty good varietal account on the palate, with nice pithy texture and even balance. The finish betrays some alcohol and bitterness, but overall this hangs together well. 14
Andrew Jefford: Pale green-gold. A soft vanilla warmth, with just the faintest hint of banana, which may be all the banana that a wine ever wants. Poised, elegant, and enticing. On the palate, this is a pretty, relatively sweet, but decidedly elegant rendition of the variety. There’s not a lot of fruit complexity (apricot and green fig) nor huge length or glycerol or width, but the overall effect is very comely and attractive, and it would make delicious drinking. A little vinosity to finish. True Viognier, though not super-exotic (less exotic than [White Hall Vineyards Monticello Viognier Virginia 2011] or [Breaux 2010 Viognier Virginia], for example) but skillfully vinified and well judged. 15.5
