Stephen Brook: Medium straw. Lush nose—peaches and talc—but has precision, too, so that there is no blowsiness. Ripe and concentrated, not as opulent as the nose suggests, and has a curious sweet-and-sour tone. That makes for a bracing style, but it also seems that not all the fruit was optimally ripe. Medium length. 14.5
Alex Hunt: This wine pushes the ripeness into apricot-jam territory. There are some appealing exotic notes that are nonetheless just slightly flat, like spices left in the cupboard a bit too long. The palate is dominated by quite heavy, creamy flavors that jar with surprisingly angular acidity. Not the most harmonious or enjoyable example. 13
Andrew Jefford: Full gold. Very floral: not just honeysuckle, but jasmine and gardenia. Less aromatic fruit than some, though. Rich, full, expressive, but a little simple compared to some of its French peers, perhaps; more acidity (very orange, tangerine in flavor) than some, too. Some peachy fruit, but more canned peach than fresh peach. Nonetheless, it couldn’t be any other variety: an exuberant rendition. 14.5
