BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish with just a hint of turn. Almost a scented, floral bouquet, plum and anise. Soft but chewy fruit, alcoholic but integrated—an individual wine not greatly typical but has quality. Drinking now for years. 16.5

Bruno Besa: Deep ruby to thin pink rim. Quite a bit of new oak on the nose yet clean with mature plums and morello cherries. Soft, round mature palate with great tannins and good long finish—a young wine that needs more aging. 16.5

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Muted black cherry nose. Rich and suave, creamy and opulent, and just on the right side of overripeness, this has fine breadth of fruit and enough acidity to give some lift and elegance, too. Nicely textured and with a long finish. 17
