Nicolas Belfrage: Ruby; as yet no signs of age. Distinct morello cherry on nose, firm but balanced acidity, firm tannin, pronounced but not aggressive. Probably would benefit from another couple of years in bottle but has character. 15.5
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to ruby rim. Quite a bit of new wood on the nose, yet clean and persistent with small red fruits, fresh herbs, and hints of oriental spices. Medium to full body, with plentiful fine tannins and defined red-fruit character. Long and compact finish. A quality Sangiovese with a long life ahead. 17.5
Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sweet, oaky opulent nose: cherry clafoutis. Broad and supple, rich and generous, but super-ripe and close to soupy, and with a good deal of oak tannin. There’s a touch of alcohol here, which robs the wine of some finesse, though there’s also some tang and bite on the finish. 14.5
