Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish. Quite oaky on nose. Rich, ripe, and berry-like on palate; concentrated and serious but quite international. 14

Bruno Besa: Black core to garnet rim. Broad, mature black-fruit nose, with hints of toasted coffee. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate; mature, clean, but not very refined. 14

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Rich, plummy nose, showing weight and opulence if not much purity of Sangiovese fruit. Very rich and sumptuous, but seems aided by some non-Italian varieties, though the acidity is surprisingly strident on the mid-palate. The finish is calmer, however, despite some pronounced tannins, with the acidity giving persistence. 16.5
