Nicolas Belfrage: Virtually opaque. Berry fruit and oak on nose. Fullness of fruit on palate without overripeness. Wine capable of aging for several years, though drinking soon. 16

Bruno Besa: Black core to pink-orange rim. Smoky nose with refined black and red fruits, with hints of mint, cinnamon, and cedarwood. Full-bodied and a touch aggressive, with tight, slightly bitter finish. Clean but quite a bit overextracted. 15

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Massive plum-and-blackberry nose, more Merlot than Sangiovese. Broad and sumptuous, but one-dimensional, with loads of ripe fruit in a cushiony frame. There is acidity and tannin, but these seem more derived from the winemaking than a natural expression of site or fruit. Fatiguing. 14.5
