Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red, very nearly opaque. Soft, rounded, and enticing: ample, gentle blackcurrant and blackberry scents. A pencilly finesse, too. Excellent aromas. Vivid, fresh, and full—yet at the same time tender, satisfying, almost “rich.” The 2017 acidity is gratifyingly uninsistent in this poised, delicately balanced, and very gratifying, drinkers’ wine. Wholly satisfying and an excellent mid-term choice from this vintage. Nature or nurture? I’m not sure, but the ripeness profile here is spot-on. | 90

Michael Schuster | Both minerally and faintly herbaceous to smell; medium-full, softly crisp in acidity, light in tannin, freshly, sweetly red fruit in flavor, if with the acidity a bit to the fore as yet. A touch austere for the moment, but it will mellow with time. To enjoy within the decade, though, before its bones are revealed. 2023–27. | 85
