Andrew Jefford | Dark purple-black-red in color, opaque at the core. Pure and finely focused. Aromatically, this wine says it sits at the fresher end of Pomerol. The plums come with their leaves, though everything is adequately ripe. There’s a hint of resin and birch-tree sap (an agreeable vegetal note—not piney). Sound and enticing. Deep, fresh, vivid, and lively, though without the thrum of perfumed, sweet ripeness you get at the top of the plateau. Rather light tannins here, so the wine rides on its smooth, true fruits, lively acids, and the sappy back-notes. It’s concentrated, satisfying, and will make a great mid-term glass. | 89
Michael Schuster | Dense and still relatively closed to smell; full, vigorous, tannic wine; this has become chewier in bottle, and is now a slightly muscular expression of the year, ripely fruited, moderately complex, with nice length. A good, solid, mid-rank expression of Pomerol. A pleasing accompaniment to quite rich food, early on. Now to 2030+. | 89
