Tim Atkin | Meaty with a hint of reduction. Still quite closed and firm. Youthful, modern style, with lots of bramble, damson, and sweet raspberry fruit; some chalky freshness and well-handled oak. Needs 5+ years. | 92
Simon Field | Purple ruby color, a very narrow rim. Nose is soft, a little reticent: peonies, violets, and strawberries first to capture the imagination. The palate is equally soft, almost Nouveau in its design; cushioned, billowing tannins hardly interfere with an inclination to enjoy, but not to be challenged and maybe not to keep for the longest term. Today, this is delicious. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Dark, translucent black-red. Fresh, round, harmonious aromas of glowing red fruits: ample, straightforward charm here. Slightly dry on the palate, which the aromas didn’t suggest. Modest concentration, but the fruits do have a purity and a finesse to them that many of their peers don’t. With food, the dryness will abate, and this is a wine I would enjoy drinking with dinner over the next year or two. | 89
