Simon Field | Ruby with a dark heart; a hint of brick at the rim. The nose is subtle, maybe moody, maybe reticent and unformed. There are herbs here: aniseed, eucalypt, mace, with garrigue and thyme in the background, the fruit hitherto irresolute. The palate is quite hot and alcoholic, structurally diffuse, acids and tannins disarmingly present but not really communicating, the overall impression of labor’s love lost. | 87
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red. This is sweetly mentholated but lacks the aromatic resonance and fresh purity of the very best. Deep, dense, sweet, and satisfying on the palate. It’s still not the most complex wine in our tasting, but the weight, heft, and authenticity of the palate are much better than the aromatics suggested they would be. Solid, sound, true Terrasses du Larzac. | 90
Anthony Rose | There’s lot of youthfully primary ruby in the color of this wine, and its perfume combines ripe, dark red fruits with the gentle spicing of oak. It’s a wine of substance, announcing its presence with a rich, ripe strawberry fruit quality embedded in a well-judged framework of gradually resolving tannins underpinned by a nice juiciness of acidity for overall balance. | 91
