BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Persuasive corvid core, with a very narrow rim. A subtle nose of smoke, ripe figs, bitter chocolate, and loganberry; iodine, fennel, and a hint of pine resin. The palate is symphonic in its aspiration; broad, majestic, with herbs and dried fruits providing an eloquent subtext. The hints of mint, verbena, and forest floor underwrite both the fundamental intensity and the inherent complexity. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color. Quite a complex aroma, with more than just the classic sour-plum fruit: The oak forest and earthy tones qualify the fruits. Satisfying and enticing with some typical Malbec leafiness. Sound, deep, true Cahors, with ample pure depths. An unshowy wine, but with real qualities that would emerge in the drinking. | 90

Anthony Rose | Youthful and bright, this is still primary in aroma and flavor. Very well made, with an alluring scent and a savory dark-berry fruit quality, whose sweetness turns quickly to savory as the tannins start to kick in and the acidity adds another line of savory depth. Nicely supple and drinkable, though, despite its youth. | 89
